What is My Source Type?

Examine the citation information . . .

If there is a city, your source is a BOOK.

If there are two numbers separated by a decimal point (volume # and an issue #), your source is a JOURNAL.

If your source is not a book or journal, it might be a MAGAZINE or NEWSPAPER. It is sometimes difficult to tell the two apart. Google the title if you are not sure.

WEBSITES sometimes contain newspaper, magazine, or journal articles. Don't cite these sources as websites.
