Teen Tech Week 2018: Post-It Pixel Art

Celebrate all kinds of technology, old and new, in the Niles North Library!

The Original Post-It War

It all started in France, 2011...

Ubisoft office workers (makers of Assassin's Creed and other videogames) used Post-It Notes to create images on office windows. It quickly turned competitive and spread around the world.

Post-It Pixel Art

Grab some post-it notes and some friends and make some awesome artwork!

Tips & Ideas

Take inspiration from images that are already pixelated. 8bit video games, perler beads, cross stitch patterns, etc. Search the internet for ideas!

Once you have an idea, try drawing it out on graph paper, so you know exactly how many post-it notes of each color you need to re-create your inspiration image.

Don’t forget to step back!

When you’re up close to a pixelated image it just looks like individual pixels. It’s only when you’re far away that the pixels merge together and make sense. So step far away from your artwork every once in awhile to see how it’s coming together!
