Works Cited / Bibliography Tips

  • Title the final source page as Works Cited (do not italicize the words Works Cited or put them in quotation marks) and center the words Works Cited at the top of the page.
  • The ONLY lines that are left-justified (all the way to the left of the paper) are the first line of each of the sources. Everything else should be indented - including the annotation.
  • Check to make sure the same font and font size has been used throughout the bibliography. Be consistent!
  • Make sure to alphabatize the list of sources.
  • Double space all citations, but do not skip spaces between entries.
  • Refer back to the annotated bibliography example (the box on the right) on the research guide. Does your bibliography look similar?
