Sample Bibliography / Works Cited

Part 1

1. Access the Chicago Tribune Historical Archive (Historical Newspapers) database through the IRC database webpage.

2. Search on the key words dust storm. Click on the link that shows articles from 1933-1945 (Hint: you must go past the first page of article).  Locate the article "Kansas Storms Blow Surface Soil from Farms".

3. Return to your EasyBib bibliography. Select the source "newspaper" and click on "manual cite". Select the tab "online database" and enter the information. 

4. Read the article "Kansas Storms Blow Surface Soil from Farms". Click on "add annotation" in your citation and write the annotation for the article.  When you have entered the infomation, click on create citation.

Part 2

1. Use the databases to find an additional article on Migrant Farm Workers. Create an annotated citation for the article.

2. Your completed assignment should be an annotated bibliography of three sources. Please look at the sample annotated bibliography in the column to the right of this box.

Part 3

FORMATTING YOUR WORKS CITED PAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! Look at the sample page at the right and compare your formatting to the formatting on the sample.

1. Make sure your citations are alphabetized.

2. Your final product should be a Works Cited Page with 3 annotated citations.
