Rick Yancey went to Roosevelt University in Chicago and graduated with a degree in English. He then worked as a teacher and in theatre before becoming a revenue officer with the IRS. His first novel was aptly titled Confesssions of a Tax Collector, and he left the IRS to pursue writing full-time when it was published.
